For 20 years, having been in the unique position of asking people to show me their squat, I’ve seen lots of squats…and lots of interpretations of squats.
The thing that stands out to me most? There is confusion around the squat, both as a movement and as a loaded strength building exercise.
Enter: The Workout Workshop: The Sweet Squat.
What is it?
It’s a place to clean up confusion and explore all the pieces of the squat and factors that affect it. From joint mobility and flexibility to stability and strength.
Who’s it for?
Everyone! Novice or experienced lifter.
But particularly, anyone who’s struggled with the squat from a pain, progress or avoidance standpoint. It’s time to stop looking around the gym for “the machine” for your legs. The Squat is functional, portable and badass.

A 2 hour workshop with Matt Semrick, Strong First Level 1 certified trainer working with clients for 20 years now. The trainer’s trainer, he has helped countless clients certify at the StrongFirst Instructor Course. Cleaning up movement and working with injured clients is his favorite pass time.
