Garth Wakeford Pose Method Running Instructor As UWC’s go-to running expert, Garth is a seasoned marathoner (including the New York City marathon in 2009), with over 15 years’ training experience. Garth advocates the Pose Method, a more efficient running stance that optimizes performance times, prevents injury, and lessens the strain on knees. He combines video analysis and various drills to ensure patients develop a smooth, fast gait, and are fit to race pain-free. “Train for life.” Garth has a BA in Human Movement Science and Kinesiology from Rhodes University, South Africa. He’s a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, with additional training in Neurokinetic Therapy. A lifelong athlete—and former pro rugby player—Garth also surfs, paddle boards, and golfs. Currently, he’s building up a new roster of rugby-loving teens and adults in East Hampton.
