Slipped Disc What is a slipped disc? A slipped disc occurs when the disc’s soft, squishy center spills out into the exterior of the cushion, causing pain and irritation to the nerves in the spine. What are the symptoms of a slipped disc? Some symptoms include back pain, neck discomfort, a tingly feeling, some localized numbness, and a sensation of pressure in the buttocks, lower back, and legs. How do we treat a slipped disc? Along with adequate rest and hot/cold therapy, we will also assess the location of injury so we can determine which parts of your body are compensating for the pain. Once we figure out what the root cause of the injury is, we will recommend different ways for you to adjust your posture and movement to reduce pressure and discomfort.
