Coffee, Addicted Much? Urban Wellness Clinic discovers Bulletproof Coffee. I love coffee. I love the way it smells, wafting out of La Columbe and drawing me in like a new found lover. I love my shots tight, short, and pack a punch. No sugar, 3oz of almond milk, 2oz of espresso for a glorious cortado to warm me in the winter or iced americano on those sweltering summer mornings. One cup a day is just right. I love the way it makes me feel…alive, on my A game, charismatic at 8am. But, then the jitters, anxious sweats start to set in, and I’m usually crashing around 3pm. My sugar and coffee cravings parallel each other like clockwork. I grew up in a family where drinking 10 cups of coffee a day was the norm….caffeinated. I’ve tried black tea daily feeling slow witted, almost depressed, giving myself one cheat day for a cortado and sure enough I feel on top of the world again. Addiction much? Oh, but the benefits are so glorious especially with a family history of gallstones, asthma attacks, and cancer. My paleo girlfriend and I were comparing coffee notes and stared me straight in the eye “Em, how have you not tried Bulletproof coffee?” Clean coffee beans sans the toxins from the production, grass fed butter, and MCT oil. Sign me up for a little self experimentation. New experiment for the week, I’ll let you know how it goes.
